Furuno Echosounder FSS-3BB

SKU: IMD0365900A
EAN: IMD0365900A
Stock:

Powerful and feature-rich echo sounder with extremely high performance and functions for species identification and size distribution within fish schools. The recommended transducers include both high- and low-frequency elements and transmit on both frequencies simultaneously. The use of CHIRP technology ensures highly effective noise elimination. The recommended transducers enable the use of new IDENTI-FISH™ functions, which can present size distribution and potential species mixing within a school. Heave stabilization is achieved when connected to a satellite compass.

Features:

  • Graph with species distribution by percentage
  • TrueEcho CHIRP – high-resolution echogram
  • Dual-screen setup
  • Heave compensation capability
  • A-Scope
  • Bottom lock & Bottom zoom
  • Up to 3 frequencies simultaneously with an external network sounder

HEAVE-STABILIZED ECHOSOUNDER WITH SPECIES AND SIZE DISTRIBUTION

Equipped with a powerful combination transducer, the FSS-3BB delivers extensive range, high target separation, and effective noise elimination.

The FSS-3BB can, with high probability, indicate species type and variations when the echoes match the sounder’s reference data. Its high resolution also enables calculation and visualization of size distribution within a school. The use of color scales provides clear presentation, making it easy to assess the risk of both overfishing and bycatch.

RECOMMENDED TRANSDUCERS FOR cFSS-3BB

To achieve optimal performance and access to the new IDENTI-FISH™ features, a broadband CHIRP transducer is required. We recommend:

  • CM599LHG (3 kW / 28-60 kHz / 130-210 kHz)
  • CM265LHG (1 kW / 42-65 kHz / 130-210 kHz)

The FSS-3BB is compatible with a wide range of standard transducers. When upgrading from another sounder, it's often possible to reuse the existing transducer, and upgrade to a broadband version later for enhanced performance and access to new features.

ECHOGRAM AND IDENTI-FISH™ PRESENTATION

Color gradations indicate species composition

The FSS-3BB leverages CHIRP technology and simultaneous transmission on both low and high frequencies. This produces highly detailed echoes, which are processed quickly for accurate and reliable results.

In a dual-screen setup, one screen can display a traditional echogram where color gradients indicate the density of the school, while the other shows the new IDENTI-FISH™ features. This presentation uses the color variations to indicate the likelihood of species mixing within a school.

IDENTI-FISH™ species identification can differentiate, for example, between fish with and without swim bladders. Echoes are color-coded by species, even when different species are mixed. This allows users to assess potential mixing at a glance.

FSS-3BB BOTTOM LOCK AND ZOOM

EXCEPTIONAL TARGET SEPARATION

The FSS-3BB delivers unique performance and excels at distinguishing between the seabed and fish close to the bottom, even at great depths.  When connected to a satellite compass, heave compensation can be enabled, allowing the use of the bottom zoom or bottom lock features.  All echoes within a user-defined distance from the bottom are expanded and presented with sharp detail.

The FSS-3BB can also receive depth data from a trawl sonar and display the trawl’s position.
