With close to 300 TELSCOPE installations completed and more than 3,000 users onboard vessels and ashore, a clear shift from paper-based record books to digital solutions is underway across the maritime industry. TELSCOPE is a type-approved solution for electronic record books, developed in accordance with ISO 21745 – Electronic record books for ships. Certified by DNV, the solution supports compliance with both SOLAS and MARPOL requirements through one integrated platform covering all required logbooks.

Electronic record books may be used in accordance with IMO regulations, subject to approval by the vessel’s flag state. TELSCOPE is already recognised by numerous flag states, with additional approvals continuously added.

TELSCOPE combines all required SOLAS and MARPOL record books in one integrated platform, together with operational checklists, voyage reporting and shore-based fleet follow-up. By consolidating operational records, procedures and reporting workflows into a single system, TELSCOPE supports consistent and structured operations across both ship and shore.

The platform covers all major statutory and operational record books, including deck, engine, GMDSS, oil, ballast water and garbage record books. Additional applications such as checklist management, special instructions, voyage functionality and shore dashboards further strengthen operational visibility and fleet-wide compliance management.

Through the TELSCOPE Shore module, shore organisations maintain continuous access to synchronised operational data, reports and completed checklists across the fleet. This improves transparency, simplifies compliance follow-up and reduces the administrative workload associated with traditional paper-based processes.

TELSCOPE integrates with onboard IAS, GPS, ECDIS and other connected ship systems to automate logbook entries and operational recordings and readings. Time, position and sensor data are automatically retrieved and applied across relevant record books, ensuring consistent and verified observations across all relevant recordbooks.

By reducing repetitive manual entries and reusing verified system data wherever possible, TELSCOPE significantly reduces onboard administrative workload while improving the quality and consistency of recorded information. Automated machine logging, operational hour reporting and sensor-driven observations also minimise the risk of discrepancies between recorded events and the actual operational sequence.

Checklist Management with Documented Compliance

TELSCOPE Checklist Management gives shore organisations full control over procedures and operational checklists across the fleet. Updates are managed from shore and automatically distributed to relevant ships through the ship-to-shore synchronisation process, ensuring consistent implementation of procedures across the fleet.

Once synchronised onboard, updated checklists immediately replace previous versions, ensuring that onboard personnel always work according to the latest approved procedures. This eliminates weak or manual distribution processes where outdated checklists may otherwise remain in operational use.

All updates, distribution events and checklist activations are automatically documented within the system. During audits, this provides clear traceability showing when procedures were updated, which ships received the changes and when updated checklists entered operational use.
