X-band radar with 12 kW transmission power. Noise-free and accurate radar image. Aerodynamic antenna design reduces temperature peaks and wear on moving parts. Fanless and brushless antenna motor reduces maintenance needs. Approved for CAT 1, CAT 2, CAT 3, CAT 1H, and CAT 2H depending on screen choice. Also available in an NXT version (solid-state, magnetron-free).
X-band radar
- Noise-free radar image with high reliability
- Also available in a magnetron-free, solid-state version
- Approved for CAT 1, CAT 2, CAT 3, CAT 1H, and CAT 2H depending on antenna rpm and display selection
- Aerodynamic antenna design reduces wear
- Fanless and brushless antenna motor reduces maintenance requirements
- Easy installation with IP network between antenna and processor
- Effective noise reduction with ACE (Automatic Clutter Elimination)
- Very fast Target Tracking
- Interswitch with FAR-3xxx, FAR-2xx7, and FAR-15×8
- Compatible with Furuno Oil Radar FOIL-200 and Furuno Ice Radar FICE-100
The FAR-2xx8 series antennas feature a new, more aerodynamic design that reduces temperature peaks and wear on moving parts. The new antenna motor is also fanless and brushless, which reduces maintenance.

NOISE-FREE RADAR IMAGE AND FAST TARGET TRACKING

The radar image is clean and reliable
Signal processing takes place within the antenna unit itself, preventing signal loss between antenna and processor and delivering a sharp radar image.
ACE – Automatic Clutter Elimination
The new ACE (Automatic Clutter Elimination) noise reduction function contributes to an improved radar image that the navigator can rely on. Target tracking is enhanced and now provides vector information for plotted targets within just a few seconds. Tracking has proven very stable, even for smaller and high-speed vessels.
Fast Target Tracking
The FAR-22x8/23x8 series provides fast and accurate tracking information. Course and speed vectors are displayed within just a few seconds, allowing the navigator to take early action and avoid unwanted incidents.
Easy adaptation after retrofit
The FAR-2xx8 series uses the same interface as the previous FAR-2xx7 series, making it easy for users to transition to the new model. At the same time, the user interface includes new quick-access functions that lower the threshold for new users. The FAR-2xx8 series supports interswitching with FAR-3xxx, FAR-2xx7, and FAR-15x8. It is also compatible with Furuno Oil Radar FOIL-200 and Furuno Ice Radar FICE-100. Oil and ice radar are recommended to be connected to X-band radar.

Furuno Oil Radar can be used in conjunction with our IMO-approved navigation radars. The Furuno Oil Radar FOIL-100 is recognized by NOFO. It is recommended to connect the oil and ice radar to an X-band (3 cm) radar. Oil radar is not subject to the wheelmark or other type approval regulations, allowing the choice of screen from any of our display series.
Furuno combined oil and ice radar can be used in conjunction with our IMO-approved navigation radars. The Furuno Oil Radar FOIL-100 is recognized by NOFO. It is recommended to connect the oil and ice radar to an X-band (3 cm) radar. Oil/ice radar is not subject to the wheelmark or other type approval regulations, allowing the choice of screen from any of our display series.
Find the best route through the ice with the Furuno Ice Radar FICE-100. The ice radar highlights echoes from routes taken by other ships and icebreakers. By identifying and following these routes, both time and fuel can be saved. Echoes from pure ice, such as icebergs or smaller ice chunks, are also highlighted, making them easier to avoid. It is recommended to connect the ice radar to an X-band (3 cm) radar. Ice radar is not subject to the wheelmark or other type approval regulations, allowing the choice of screen from any of our display series.
Furuno wave radar WV-100 uses raw echo data from the Furuno navigation radar to analyze sea surface echoes. The analysis results in a real time presentation of wave patterns and characteristics. Whenever wave heights exceeds defined threshold values for safe operation, an alarm is issued and a report log is created and may be used to document operational interrupts.
