FA-70 AIS Class B+

The FA-70 features a powerful transmitter that ensures excellent range. New technology provides enhanced visibility and faster updates of your vessel’s data — especially important for coastal navigation. A built-in VHF splitter allows you to share the VHF antenna with your radio.

SAFE NAVIGATION WITH AIS

AIS is a critically important tool for avoiding collisions. When integrated with radar and a chart plotter, AIS offers a graphical display of all nearby vessels, including their position, heading, speed, and details such as vessel name and call sign. This gives you strong situational awareness, even in challenging conditions with rough seas and poor visibility. Since AIS does not require line-of-sight to receive signals, it can display vessels located behind islets or headlands, providing earlier awareness of potential hazards in narrow or complex waterways.

New Technology

The FA-70 is a complete Class B+ (SOTDMA) AIS that transmits your vessel data faster and with stronger signals than traditional Class B units. SOTDMA technology ensures your signal is picked up by other vessels, increasing your visibility in high-traffic waters. The FA-70 also includes a built-in high-precision GPS receiver with DGPS functionality, ensuring the transmission of highly accurate position data.

Easy Installation

The FA-70 is a black-box AIS. It can be connected to an external display, such as the Furuno RD-33, or integrated with TimeZero or your TZT plotter. Both NMEA0183 and NMEA2000 are supported.

The FA-70 features a built-in VHF antenna splitter, allowing it to share the same VHF antenna with your radio. This makes installation simpler and more cost-effective. Note that the FA-70 is a transmitting unit and requires an AIS VHF-compatible antenna, just like any Class B+, Class B, or AIS system.
